New Openings for 2010
We find out why four new businesses chose the West End to set up shop - keep an eye on the website for updates as more businesses are opening very soon!
All about w8
All About W8 helps men and women lose weight quickly and safely, using meal replacements. Sarah Weston chose William Street for her weight loss management company because of its central location and the bustling experience on her doorstep. “It’s great for customers. As long as they stay away from Liggy’s Cakes next door,” she jokes.
Other West End gems Sarah recommends: Coffee at Nikki’s.
Beautifully Boudoir
Beautifully Boudoir sells stunningly seductive corsets and photographer owners, Seona Earle-Misumi and Elizabeth Cummings, offer photo sessions for women to show off their feminine side and be proud of their curves. “Our customers travel from all over so the West End is great for transport links,” says Seona. “We love being next to so many independent boutiques too.”
Other West End gems Seona and Elizabeth recommend: Anthyllis for a pamper.
Chamomile Sanctuary
With Chamomile Sanctuary, owners, Jilly Kinsella and Justine Mitchell, wanted to create a peaceful retreat away from the stresses of everyday life. Blissful to relax in and beautiful to look at, the spa is pampering heaven. “The ‘Notting Hill’ village feel here was perfect for us,” says Jilly. The West End is easy to get to but it’s still an escape from it all.”
Other West End gems Justine and Jilly recommend: Frontiers for clothes, hair at Charlie Miller and flowers for the salon at Lilium.
The Westroom
Mark Fraser and Michael Spink of Sygn bar opened The Westroom at the end of 2009. Lookwise, The Westroom is different to Sygn but comes with the same guarantee of fine food and wine. Its café culture and home-from-home feel complement the general cool and relaxed vibe of the West End.
Other West End gems Mark and Michael recommend: Le du Vin for a glass of wine and Boombarbers for a haircut.
