23 Melville Street brings National PA Day to Scotland

23 Melville Street, Edinburgh’s new unbranded, boutique business centre, has become the first Scottish organisation to support National PA Day – launched by London’s Office show.

It’s celebrating the occasion, which kicks off on Thursday, September 15, by launching an exclusive online competition to help celebrate Britain’s unsung office heroes.

The business centre, which offers high spec serviced office suites, meeting rooms and virtual office packages in Edinburgh’s West End, has teamed up with Montpeliers to offer one lucky winner a romantic dinner for two at the award winning boutique hotel, Tigerlily.

It’s keen to appreciate the UK’s PAs, who are often the backbone of any successful company, and, as such, has become the first organisation of its kind to fully embrace National PA Day, which is a first for this year – as launched by Diversified Business Communications UK, which runs the Office show.

According to Office, National PA Day aims to “highlight the increasing importance of the estimated 600,000 highly-skilled PAs working in offices across the UK and to promote the profession to well-educated young people seeking an exciting and stimulating career”.

Of the estimated five million UK workers employed in an administrative role, it’s thought that the majority of them are crucial to the productivity of each business.

A recent poll of employers even discovered that 97 per cent of them felt that the administration function was ‘critical’ to the effectiveness of their business and 67 per cent though that the importance of these particular roles had increased*.

“It’s PAs and secretaries who normally book our meeting rooms on their employers’ behalf and we are aware of the fantastic jobs they do on a day-to-day basis.
